A: HOC can provide a down payment assistance loan to pair with your home loan from a local or regional lender, or we can provide your home loan, but we cannot provide both on the same purchase.

Yes, this is a requirement of all of our loans at HOC.

A: The HomeOwnership Center works with all income levels and has many programs and services to suit a wide variety of people.

A: The only fee that you pay to work with our HUD Certified Counselor is the cost per person of your soft inquiry credit report. The meeting itself is free to you.

A: The process of purchasing a home varies from person to person, and so does the time it takes to get to “yes”. There may be obstacles that we need to overcome prior to you being ready to move forward with a mortgage, but we will be with you the whole way.

A: Yes. We offer counseling services to anyone regardless of their credit history. Each mortgage type has its own set of requirements and can be explored during your appointment. Learn how to repair and build your credit with our HUD-certified advisor.

A: Yes. One of the biggest obstacles facing many homebuyers is too much debt. Your monthly debt is taken into consideration when a lender determines the mortgage amount for which you qualify. Our counselors will show you how to determine how much debt is too much and, if necessary, help you develop a debt reduction plan – get started now!

A: The HomeOwnership Center offers customers the tools and knowledge they need to become informed consumers and successful homebuyers. The eight hour online Homebuyer Education course provides an overview of the home buying process and what lenders expect. Counselors help customers address their obstacles to home ownership and HOC continues to provide educational opportunities and counseling after a home purchase to ensure sustainable success.
